What Are The Steps Of Goal Setting Process
The Goal-Setting Guide
As the end of the year approaches and the new year is upon us. Everyone gets excited and starts setting resolutions but resolutions most often than not are ambiguous statements instead you must set goals.
In this blog, I will share my goal-setting process, system, and more
What’ll learn:
-how many gaols can you set in a year
-what are the different types of goals
-the goal-setting framework that works for perfectionists
-the goal-setting process
– a resource to help you set your goals like a pro
let’s get started

As perfectionists, we love setting goals and planning them but if you set some before and didn’t achieve them
you won’t want to set goals again or you feel dread >> procrastinates,
feel resistance ( see my previous post on how to get out of this) >>
procrastinate and do other things
You are either excited about it or not
so, which team are you?
Of course, you can set goals in many different areas of your life.
However, I want to focus here on business goals
and how many goals to set for a year
There’s a rule I follow which is not to have more than 1 big/impossible/stretch goal in a year
however, I can have different small goals
but not big ones, why?
Because
There is a difference between big goals and small goals
So, what’s the difference? Glad you asked
what are the different types of gaols
1- big/impossible/stretch goals require more of you(changing your beliefs and who you think you are+effort)
it helps you grow beyond who you are now and they’re more challenging
2-small/realistic goals require effort and work but they’re more easily done since they’re within your belief system and identity than the big ones.
They just help you improve a bit. improve what you know, improve your skills that are within reach of who you are now but a bit challenging.
3-effort /habit-based goals require repetition and tweaking as you go until it become part of you

The goal-setting framework
To set any goal I follow the SMART framework without an R & A.
R stand for realistic I don’t set realistic goals
when it comes to my big goal if it’s realistic won’t help me grow
A stand for attainable and every goal is attainable
so, everything you come up with is attainable there’s no true impossible goal, every goal is possible
no matter how big it is even if it takes time you’ll reach it if you don’t give up
So goals need to be
S: specific. You need it to be a clear goal
M: measurable. How would you know if you have achieved it
T: timebound: when it’s due if it’s not tied to the time it’ll take years to happen if it does
For instance
The correct way of setting goals
Making $ 10 k in revenue by December 31st
Incorrect way of setting goals
Making money
Making $10k
Making $ 10k in revenue
the resource to help you set your goals like a pro
