Why Burnout Happens And How Can You Stop Burning out Once And For All
The real cause of burnout and how can you nip it in the bud
Burnout is a widely occurring phenomenon in recent years
that many people suffer(ed) from whether at work or in business.
Today I’ll share everything you need to know about it and how to stop this cycle
What you’ll learn:
-what is burnout
-why burnout happens (causes)
-how to stop getting burned out
What is burnout
Characterised by mental exhaustion, loss of interest, lower performance, feeling tired,
and unable to focus that is caused by working under constant stress
Burnout happens when (i/you) work from overwhelm, pressure and stress all the time
That is caused by how I think
examples of Thoughts
why am I not there yet, why is it taking so long
Working from lack
Trying to chase an outcome from desperation
Always thinking there’s something wrong if things didn’t work out

Why do you get burned out
The causes of burnout as I experienced it
1-you’re under stress most of the time.
Stressing about everything and anything in your business,
for example, wanting to get there fast, your niche, content…etc
without properly looking for a solution even though you eventually do
but you’ve already put yourself under too much stress that you end up burned out
always thinking that you’re doing something wrong and looking for solutions
2-feeling overwhelmed from thinking you have a lot to do
and overplanning and putting too much in your calendar
or worse not using a calendar and just a to-do list
But having a lot to do isn’t truly the culprit
but what do you think about what you have to do
you can overplan which in that case you need to evaluate and don’t forget your other commitments
Let’s take an example of me at the start of my business and specifically about content creation
It was a struggle because I kept thinking
“it’s too much, I can’t do that much when I think about wring content
for the blog, IG, and FB then editing them
>>>>the real reason for overwhelm is these thoughts, not the work itself
one gets overwhelmed because it’s a comfortable state of being that I used to it even though it’s painful but familiar
>>another is I want to avoid feeling shame(being laughed at) that comes from being judged
as I put content out there and no one interacts with them
or worse someone says something bad about them
since I know it’s not perfect, it’s not good enough
in comparison to what I see out there and like
>>I was afraid to face my incompetency and the shame that comes with it
as perfectionists, we think our talents, and abilities are fixed and
we try as hard as we can to avoid feeling the shame that comes from our lack
by trying to be perfect as such overwhelm is a sign of perfectionism
3-working under pressure
by leaving work to the last minute or until so close to a deadline that
can result in being under constant stress that leads to burnout
mentally you release epinephrine which will help you focus and narrow
your vision like it would if you were in danger it’ll give you the motivation
but is not good in the long run as you and I have noticed and experienced burnout afterwards
how many times have I left work to the end of the day and
then tried to rush to get it done which leave me in this cycle of stress
4-working from lack.
“It’s not enough, i need to repeat it, I need to do more “
no matter what( you/ I) feel it’s not enough and I need to do more
or re-do it to make it good to help others
when in reality I am trying to avoid
the shame that comes from people’s judgment
it comes from comparing yourself to already established people
and many others on the internet
plus that you already have high standards you want things to be perfect
let’s continue my content creation example
as thoughts of lack were present too
I thought my content isn’t good, I always thought I need to edit them multiple times
because what if there’s a mistake and maybe I come up with something better?
I couldn’t let go of wanting it to be perfect but it was disguised
as wanting to create good content, that wanted to help and this isn’t helping
>>>>which in all come from an unmanaged mind. it shows you that what you think has a huge effect on your energy thus the outcome

How to stop burnout?
1-emotionally, take care of yourself by journaling, meditation, and talking things out
with a professional or someone you trust, and many more
2- Make rest as part of your planning.
as intentional clean rest where you don’t feel guilty for doing it will help you refresh, relieve stress
3-eliminate, and delegate some of your work
This is part of proper planning as start to eliminate unimportant tasks
From your plan and delegate work to others
or to yourself in the future instead of planning too much
when it can be done at a different time
which will help you reduce overwhelm from having too much to do
learn how to plan properly with my planning blog posts and
while you are at it I think you’ll love the complete planning workbook
where I share how to plan properly from start to finish
the complete planning workbook
4-stop procrastination and last-minute work
when you procrastinate you may escape the immediate pain of facing your work
but it’ll be at the back of your mind stressing you out no matter what are you doing which
leads you in some cases to burnout
I have written many blog posts on why we do it and how to stop doing
here they are:
The real reasons why you procrastinate
5-working on what matters.
Learn to identify needle movers in your business and do them and
everything else would be an extra that you do gradually as you have more time available
or never if not really matter in the grand skim of building your business
6-learn to be patient
as having thoughts like
“ why am I not there yet, I’ve been doing it for a while and didn’t get anything yet,
why is not happening, I’ve done enough, everyone is successful except me…”
come from wanting things to be fast to prove yourself and get validation that you are capable and it comes
from unmanaged expectations about how long it takes to succeed, learn a skill
and in this world, we get the message it should be fast like from the first try, first time…
7-working from abundance.
this is enough, my work matters, people need my help, and my content is valuable”
changing your thoughts from lack to abundance will help you never burn out
and finally, choose one or two max to work on from the solutions.
start by becoming aware of the thoughts that lead you to that then choose what to work on
To your greatest success
