7 reasons why I love reading and why you should be reading books
7 benefits of reading
1-For Entertainment and escapism
I love escaping to different worlds and living different realities through the characters I read about
i love the quiet time i get when reading, even if it is 10 min. It is so relaxing and enhances my mood for the rest of the day if i read early or change my mood at the end of the day
It’s also a great way to fight against brain rot and mental fatigue that social media projects these days
tip: Start from where you are, read based on genres you love watching, or reconnect with what you used to love or sound good to you, from book recommendations on social media
2-For the immersion
I love getting absorbed in different worlds to expand and enrich my imagination
It’s a wonderful tool to improve your imagination
Tip: If you are finding difficulty in getting immersed, try a different format like listening to an audiobook or do an immersive reading where you read and listen at the same time
3-To think, form opinions, and engage in critical thinking
that I get as I question, ponder about the stories or the non-fiction I read
Writing reviews, thinking about what i read and what i thought as I read the book, helps me form my opinions and engage in critical thinking
It’s a good tool to help you think about what is going on in the story, with the characters and about the characters themselves,.. About the information argument and interpretations present in a nonfiction book.
tip: take a moment to think about what you have read(what did you like and dislike, what you learned,..)and maybe write those thoughts down

4-For education and learning
There are many great informative, educational, non-fiction books that
Teach me different things, new things, life lessons, and overall enhance my knowledge
I take notes so, I don’t forget, write summaries of the key points for nonfiction books,
focusing on getting answers to questions i pre-thought before reading the book and marking the parts that contain them, since i read it for a reason or to solve a problem
Tip: To start with nonfiction, think of things that interests that you and are curious about,or problems you want to solve and go find a book that does that
5-To understand others, our complex emotions, our way of thinking
through the characters I read about
not only when the author shows you the right way, but also by showing you the wrong way, you’ll reach that
It’s a good way to be in someone else’s shoes and understand their thinking and experience them
Which develops your empathy and emotional intelligence, you’ll be better at understanding your emotions and others through good communication and management
Learn about new perspectives, thus expanding your worldview
In many situations,I find myself thinking about what this would make someone feel in real life and be more empathetic, but not always, of course
6-to improve mental well-being
Reading is a relaxing habit that, when done consistently, helps with sleep and reduces stress and anxiety
I feel good, calm, and at peace when reading, even if I am reading an action-packed book
Tip: start reading in a quiet place for at least 10 min daily
7-to level up and build skills
Reading improves Many skills, like increasing your vocabulary, leveling up your language skills, improving your writing, and improving your articulation
Help build your focus and concentration that has been disturbed by social media and screens
You’ll find yourself remembering better because it boosts your memory
it keeps my language sharp and expands it
